Applying for the EMMECC NURSING

Am I eligible for this programme?

To be eligible for the EMMECC NURSING Programme, applicants must fulfil these minimum requirements:

  • Be the holder of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (a minimum of three years of study at a university and at least 180 ECTS, or equivalent according to the regulations in the country of origin and to the European regulations).
  • Be proficient in English - Applicants must prove at least a level B2 in English or equivalent IELTS/TOEFL certificate. If the language of instruction of your degree at your home university was English, you can submit a certificate issued by the university that granted your degree stating this fact.
  • At least three years of work experience in a relevant field after the final higher (tertiary) education degree certificate was issued.

All applications that do not fulfil all the above-mentioned requirements will not be assessed.

Am I eligible for the EM Scholarship?

To be eligible to apply for the EM Scholarship, applicants must fulfil the same requirements to be admitted into the course. The concession of the scholarship, however, will be subject to the following limitations:

  • Have already obtained a first higher education degree.
  • Exclusively full-time enrolment in one of the course editions.
  • Not being awarded with other EU grants for the same joint course over the length of the course concerned.
  • No more than two students with the same nationality.

How can I apply?

The application for EMMEC NURSING has to be completed online through the Master Course website: http://www.masternursing.eu/admission/application. In order to submit your application, first you have to register to get your username and passport, and then you have to log in and complete ALL sections and all items of the questionnaire. You can save your work and log out as many times as you want. Once you have completed all sections you can submit your application. Once you have submitted it, you will not be able to modify or change any document or data and you will not be able to log in again, so please review your application thoroughly before submitting it. If you need anything changed or added you can contact us. Please bear in mind that we will not allow constant modifications to your application.

Do I need to complete a different application form to apply for the EM Scholarship?

No. During the online application form you will be asked if you want to apply for the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship.

Is it possible to apply for the EMMECC NURSING Programme without any funding or scholarship?

Yes. You can apply as a self-financing candidate.

What does it mean to apply as self-financing candidate?

Taking part in the EMMECC NURSING programme as a self-financing student means that you will have to pay for the tuition fees, living expenses, travel cost, insurance policy and any other expenses you may have. The tuition fees can be paid in two instalments: the first before the start of the first semester and the second before the start of the second semester. You can look for funding elsewhere if you wish.

Is there a deadline for applications?

Yes, the application deadline usually runs from October 1st until December 31st, but dates can change each edition, so please check the website in order to be aware of the actual deadlines.

Can both European and non-European students apply for the NURSING Master's Programme?

Yes. Students from all countries are welcome and encouraged to apply.

Can students apply through the European Commission?

No. The only way to apply for the Programme or the scholarship is through the online application process specified on the EMMECC NURSING website.

I have not graduated yet, can I still apply?

No. You need to have graduated already and have at least three years of experience in order to apply for this Master's Course.

Is there a specific format for the C.V., letters of reference, etc?

Europass is the requested format for the candidates´ CV. Regarding the reference letters, there is no specific format. Please note that the reference letters must be signed, otherwise they will not be considered in the selection process.

I would like to apply for the EMMECC NURSING programme as well as for other programmes that are offered by the University of Oviedo. Can I apply for all of them?

You are able to apply for any programme offered by the University of Oviedo during the regular Master application period. Please note that the EMMECC NURSING is an Erasmus Mundus programme with different and specific admission requirements, application procedures and deadlines. For other programmes of the University of Oviedo, please refer to their websites and follow their instructions.erentes al resto de Másteres Universitarios. I have previously taken part in an EM Master's Programme and have been awarded a scholarship. Can I still apply for the EMMECC NURSING Programme and scholarship?

You may apply for the programme, however, you will not be eligible for an EM scholarship since individuals who have already benefited from an EM master's programme scholarship are not eligible for a second scholarship in order to follow the same or another master's programme.

Is an ID card an acceptable identification document instead of the passport?

All non-European students need to have a passport to join this programme. Furthermore, although an ID card is acceptable for EU students, we would prefer all applicants to get a passport.

I have all the required documentation ready except for the English certificate. Can I submit my English test score after the application deadline?

English certificates will be admitted until April 30th.

Is it necessary to translate the documents?

If the supporting (official) documents, certificates or letters have been issued in a language other than English, you should enclose the corresponding legalized or sworn translation into English.

Should I legalize my Bachelor's degree?

At the moment of application for the EMMEC NURSING Programme it is not necessary to legalize your degree. Once the selection process has concluded, if you are admitted your degree will have to be legalized.
